Purpose of the Job
Concrete work for various track systems, ensuring high-quality results, efficient operations, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
-Lead and supervise a crew of concrete workers involved in track installation (e.g., masons, labourers).
-Interpret blueprints and trackwork specifications for concrete components (foundations, slabs, drainage systems).
-Plan, schedule, and coordinate the concrete work, ensuring efficient use of labour, materials, and equipment.
-Order and manage concrete materials (mix design, quantities) according to project requirements.
-Oversee the preparation of concrete subgrades and formwork for track components.
-Ensure proper mixing, placing, finishing, and curing of concrete according to industry standards.
-Conduct quality control inspections of concrete work throughout the process, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
-Maintain accurate records of concrete work, including material usage, labour hours, and quality control data.
-Ensure the safe operation of concrete equipment and machinery, enforcing all safety protocols on the job site.
-Train and develop your team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
-Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and addressing any concerns.
Educational Requirements
-High school diploma or equivalent is required and a minimum of 5 years of experience in concrete construction supervision.
-Intermediate English Level / B1
Desired Knowledge / Experience
-Proven experience in concrete work for track installation projects is a plus.
-Strong understanding of concrete principles, material properties, and construction methods.
-Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safe work practices for concrete construction.
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and trackwork specifications.
-Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
-Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
-Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address concrete work challenges.
-Commitment to safety and a proven ability to maintain a safe work environment.
-Experience working with different concrete mixes and placing methods relevant to trackwork (e.g., pumping, hand placement).
-Proficiency in using surveying equipment for trackwork (e.g., level) is beneficial.
