Job Overview
Under the guidance of the Shift Engineer or Camp Boss operates, maintains and repairs all aspects of the camp’s Kitchen & Laundry equipment, in accordance with the NEC standards to achieve optimum operating efficiency at all times.
Responsibilities and Duties
-Attends to repairs and maintenance of all types of Kitchen & Laundry equipment such as Washer, Extractor, Presses, Convection ovens, walk in cold-room and freezer rooms and other commercial/industrial Kitchen & Laundry equipment.
-Carries out electric arc or oxyacetylene welding
-Attend to pipe repairs or fitting work including minor plumbing job.
-Attends to all types of repair and maintenance work in the premises, including any new additional/ extensions to the camp or any other properties maintained by the Division.
-Responds to a occupants and staff maintenance request within 15 minutes on receipt of the same.
-Ensures that the supplied uniform is clean and in good condition. Always maintain a clean and tidy appearance before entering a guest or public areas
-Ensures that the Kitchen & Laundry equipment, workshop and related areas are kept clean and in tidy condition.
-Observes prescribed safety standards. Helps maintain safe conditions for self and others.
-Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.
-Assist in monitoring utilities for collation of consumption figures, and update records as required.
-Maintain up to date knowledge on all assets and equipment maintained for the safe and efficient performance of all duties.
-Interacts- cooperates with Kitchen and Laundries Supervisors/outside contractors as directed.
-Interacts with other departments when necessary to provide additional or specialized services for functions, promotions and festivities.
Required Education, Skills and Experience
Education:
-Must have a Vocational training certificate and a full technical understanding of KLE maintenance and associated equipment and controls
-A minimum two years vocational course in Refrigeration.
-High School Diploma
-Good level of the English language both written and spoken
Skills:
-Able to read wiring diagrams
-Able to check electrical and mechanical security devices
-Able to troubleshoot the refrigeration cycle and understands the operation of the cold rooms
-Flexibility, excellent attention to detail and ability to identify key issues.
-Able to work under stringent deadlines and high pressure environment.
-Technical and safety awareness with a clear understanding of electrical safety, permit to works, processes, procedures, use of power tools and associated test equipment.
Experience:
At least 10 years of experience with advance knowledge in KLE maintenance.
