ASIAPOWER OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 6.30 PM (MONDAY TO SATURDAY)
Responsibilities
-Operate various grinding tools (e.g., angle grinders, welding joint grinding machines) to smooth and shape welds on newly installed rail joints.
-Read and interpret blueprints and trackwork specifications to understand weld profile requirements and tolerances.
-Select appropriate grinding discs based on the material and desired finish.
-Grind welds precisely, ensuring a smooth and even surface that meets quality standards.
-Conduct visual inspections of welds after grinding to identify any potential issues.
-Maintain grinding equipment in good working order, performing basic cleaning and troubleshooting.
-Ensure a clean and organized work area around the grinding zone.
-Collaborate with other track installation crew members to ensure smooth project flow.
-Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including safety glasses, respirators, and ear protection.
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Desired Knowledge / Experience
-Minimum 1 year of experience operating grinding tools in a construction or metalworking environment.
-Familiarity with different types of grinding tools and discs is beneficial.
-Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and trackwork specifications.
-Ability to lift and carry moderate weight (up to 30 lbs).
-Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
-Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
-Experience working on track installation projects is a plus.
-Knowledge of trackwork principles and the importance of proper weld grinding is beneficial.
-Prior experience with welding joint grinding machines (e.g., Thermit grinder frame, Robel grinder) is highly desirable.
