General Description:
Will maintenance manager will lead all aspects of the maintenance program for a the Umm Al Houl Power (UHP) Independent Water and Power Plant multi-shaft combined-cycle power plant utilizing Siemens turbines and control systems. Must have the ability to self perform, as well as lead every aspect of the work.  The team under the manager will verify all equipment meets the OEM maintenance schedules. On start-up will perform equipment checks to ensure safe and reliable operation of the unit and plant.  The lead will be responsible for troubleshooting, testing and correcting electrical system problems for all simple and combined cycle operating modes. Will interact with Samsung management, OEM technical advisors, and client operations staff as necessary, to ensure the successful implementation of the UHP facility.

Responsibilities:
-Ensure day-to-day work is performed effectively, efficiently, and safely in order to, enhance plant reliability/integrity, and promote safety & compliance to environmental standards.
-Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
-Monitor equipment and machinery shutdowns and manage maintenance and start-up activities as needed.
-Oversee the installation of new instruments in the plant and assign duties related to removing, replacing, checking, repairing, zero checking, and overhauling any equipment.
-Supervise field, machinery and workshop maintenance foremen.
-Submit regular progress reports and highlight any pending issues or problems that need high-level intervention.
-Develop and control the schedule and program for maintenance activities.
-Handle plant maintenance problems to ensure that work meets the required quality standards.
-Provide the necessary support to the respective OME team member before/after daily meetings to ensure high level of safety performance and comply with health, safety and environmental standards.
-Ensure all mechanical systems support unit stabilization and optimization, and overall plant stabilization and optimization
-Assist as required during the performance testing and reliability testing periods
-Security and safekeeping of buildings and rooms containing mechanical system equipment
-Security of all stored temporarily removed and spare parts associated with mechanical system equipment
-Responsible authority for all mechanical system permit to work (PTW) and lock-out tag-out (LOTO) coordination on a daily basis

Minimum Skills/Knowledge:
-Excellent understanding of combined-cycle power systems; boiler, turbine, pump, valve, functions and interrelationships
-Excellent understanding of combined-cycle instrumentation and control functions and interrelationships with all plant processes
-Extensive working experience with duel pressure HRSGs, Siemens turbines, HHI BFPs and special tools
-Computer literate with Microsoft and various software applications  
-Ability to review and understand multi-discipline (mechanical, electrical, control systems, etc.) drawings and documents
-Ability to review and understand OEM supplier drawings and information
-Excellent written and spoken English language skills

Education/Experience:
-Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent technical degree with additional related experience.
-Previous Siemens gas turbine and steam turbine training and experience
-Experience in mechanical power plant start-up and operations with minimum of 5 to 15 years combustion-turbine, simple/combined cycle power plant mechanical system maintenance.
-Extensive permit to work and lock-out tag-out training and experience 
-Seven years experience as the maintenance manager for combined-cycle power plants

-Arabic language skills

-Aluminum smelter, captive power, experience
-Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
-Steam boiler operator certification
