Core Responsibilities
As they relate to the Operating Company and Affiliate level. In addition, provides Decision Support: conducts Treasury related (e.g. debt, guarantees and certain contractual obligations) due diligence on new opportunity capture (including M&A and major capital projects), reviews material contracts and venture structures and advises on financial risk/exposure including contractual undertakings, FX, commodity pricing, and proposes mitigations. Responsible for preparing all bank agreements for Treasury, working closely with the appropriate team (e.g. Cash Management), and all Treasury policies for Opco financing and decision support activities Serves as primary Treasury contact and refers to other Treasury groups as appropriate. Responsible for pension investments.
Key Accountabilities
Management and Strategic Contribution
-Provide input to the COFS manager regarding Operating Company and Affiliate Finance strategy requirements.
-Provide input to the COFS manager, for an annual business plan covering operational objectives and specific goals including Organizational Capability (see below)
-Manages and directs Individual contributor staff; responsible for the day-to-day supervision and performance management.
-Monitors all OFS work demands globally and ensures all demands are being addressed; assists in resolving conflicts of priority
-Ensures OFS staff are employing and have access to the right experts external to Treasury.
-Proactively partner with other Finance functions and SABIC business units leaders to achieve the realization SABIC Strategic goals.
Financing and Funding and Corporate Financial Risk Management
-Ensure all long term funding requirements for the operating companies and affiliates are met; monitor liquidity positions and anticipate needs
-Identify appropriate funding sources and lead efforts to arrange and implement financing decisions
-Interact and work closely with Global Cash Management regarding necessary actions for working capital management (non-operational).
-Periodically review any Opco/Affiliate foreign exchange and interest rate exposures and implement arrangements to address material ones
-Advise and seek approval from Senior Management as appropriate
-Assist other Treasury groups in the development of agreements with Financial Institution
Decision Support and Opco Financial Risk Management
-Proactively participate on efforts to capture new business opportunities, including M & A, major projects and expansions of existing business
-Proactively provide assessment and advice on financial risks and mitigations
-Activities covered should include (by way of example): project and/or affiliate governance documents, EPC contracts, major purchase or sales contracts for commodities, especially if unconditional contractual payment obligations exist
-Assist SBUs, BUs and Operating Companies as needed in communications with Senior Management
-Conduct special projects as directed; by way of example, these would include FX policy and implementation, Pension management review
Stakeholder Management – internal and external
-Represent SABIC to Financial Institutions as needed including, commercial banks, multi-lateral agencies, export-import agencies and set and monitor exposure limits to them
-Monitor and report OFS performance to Sr Mgr COFS and Treasurer as required
-Outreach: proactively maintain regular contact with senior leaders in the region, to ensure their needs are met
Minimum Experience
-Minimum 15 years of professional experience in a large global industrial company, including a minimum of 10 years in Treasury financing roles.
-Treasury experience managing financing across multiple entities highly desirable, including a minimum of 5 years in such financing roles including Project Financing
-Minimum of 4 years in roles that required negotiating with third parties and a demonstrated record of deal/transaction closure
-Experience in businesses and other functional areas in SABIC, highly desirable
-Experience presenting complex financing proposals to Senior Management
