Role Summary
-Looking for a hands-on mechanical or chemical engineering professional that has migrated towards Contract Engineering.
-The project requires a proactive and ambitious Contract Engineer that can demonstrate experience across all aspects of oil & gas Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning.
-Excellent presentation and communication skills are mandatory and only those candidates able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of EPC contracts will be considered.
-This is a rewarding role on Egypt’s flagship oil and gas construction project.
-Gulf experience in EPC / Korean Companies preferred.
Mandatory:
-B.E. in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 7 to 12 years experience in Estimation, Tendering, Quantity Surveying, Preparation of Proposal, Negotiation of Contract with Client for Refinery / Petrochemical / Oil & Gas Construction Projects.
-Experience working with a major EPC Contractor
-Experience working for a major international company
-At least one major project, living in remote site conditions outside Home Country
-Experience working in projects with a wide range of nationalities and cultures
-Gulf experience in EPC / Korean Companies preferred.
Preferred:
-Further qualifications in Construction Law, Construction Management or Contract Management
-Participation in multi-billion dollar projects.
Experience Requirement
-Analysis of construction claims (Delay analysis and Extension of Time, Costs Incurred - manpower and resource allocation)
-Generation of claims and counter-claims
-Experience of creating and managing Change Orders and Reimbursable Work claims
-Experience of coordinating Engineering
-The use of FIDIC (Silver Book) and its implementation
-Good understanding of project scheduling and activities sequencing
-Implementation of Risk Management techniques and proactive issue identification
-Good understanding of Cost Management including Balance Sheets, Taxes and Invoicing
-Good understanding of basic procurement principles
-The generation of formal correspondence in the English language
