Primary Purpose of the Job
-Senior Foreman directly controls and leads all the heavy lifts and rigging services for the whole Refinery. The work requirements are critical and needs a high degree of technical competence and enriched exposure in handling such services.
-To estimate the loads, working radii, balancing during lifting operations, type of rigging tools and equipment in coordination with Heavy Equipment Supervisor and to supervise & guide the riggers and associated work force for safe handling of materials.
Principal Accountabilities
-Main Areas of work are Refinery 1/2, RFCC, Condensate Refinery, Utilities, Offsite including Woqod, Qatex, SEEF and Berth # 6.
-Should perform as a Senior Foreman and signal person in the Refinery environment that is having varying degrees of hazards including chemical, confined spaces and high temperatures, and often requires the use of respiratory protection and other personal protective equipment.
-Receive the work orders from the Heavy Equipment Supervisor, prioritize the jobs in accordance with their requirements, check work at site including taking the measurements and establishing loads to be lifted. Create work permits in RIS. To be able to read and follow the instructions as mentioned in the Hot and Cold Work permits and follow-up with concerned sections of Operation and Safety for completion.
-Plan and organize the resources as per the instructions of Heavy Equipment Supervisor. To be able to read and follow the instructions as mentioned in the Hot and Cold Work permits and follow-up with concerned sections of Operation and Safety for completion. Supervise the Contractual Welding Manpower and make all necessary preparations for performing works during Normal Routine and unplanned Shutdowns.
-Coordinate work execution with other sections. Undertake rigging of all lifts ensuring correct rigging practices and safety of all lifts at all times. Perform rigging duties in dismantling and assembly of refinery equipment including heat exchangers, turbines, pumps, motors, etc.
-Assist Heavy Equipment supervisor in Load Testing and Preventive maintenance of all types of Cranes, Forklifts and other Lifting Equipment and Rigging Tools.
-Issue work directions to assigned rigging group and gives advice on complex rigging as experienced at many locations in Refinery. Ensure safe working condition for the workers and the work. Ensures that the company environmental, health and safety procedures are adhered to while performing maintenance work inside the Refinery. Ensures housekeeping of area after completion of assigned task.
-Should be aware of all types of rigging equipment installed at the Refinery site including the Mobile cranes, fork lifters, Pay loader, floor cranes, winches, lifting beams, bridge cranes, chain blocks, rigging hardware including slings, eye bolts, wire ropes, etc.
-Ensures safe working condition for all workers and the work and to arrange housekeeping and cleaning of work area and the equipment. Ensures that the company environmental, health and safety procedures are adhered to while performing maintenance work inside the Refinery. Ensures housekeeping of area after completion of assigned task.
-Any other work as assigned by the Heavy Equipment Supervisor.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
Minimum 12 years of school education, formal professional courses and certifications in heavy lifting/rigging using mobile and over head cranes, winches, etc. along with 08-10 years of working experience in construction and/or petrochemical environment.
