OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 5.00 PM (MON TO SAT)
Basic Function:
Supervises the activities of mill operators assigned to his shift. Includes monitoring total mill operations covering adding and mixing chemical solutions, separating solids and solutions, carbon in pulp, advancing loaded carbon, etc. and ensuring that milling machinery and equipment are operational at all times.
Work Performed:
-Directs the activities of personnel assigned to his shift.
-Reviews previous shift’s logs and hand over notes. Discusses problems, if any, with supervisor, agrees on solutions, coordinates with maintenance and others that may be involved to carry out the required work.
-Monitors mill operations including milling rate, addition of flotation re-agent, concentrate pullout, disposal of tailings, etc.
-Ensures proper supply of carbon and cyanide for. carbon in pulp, and that PH in leaching tank is maintained at the proper level.
-Pumps loaded carbon into stripping vessels, determines when to start and stop stripping of carbon based on assay results.
-Determines time to start harvesting the loaded – gold bearing – carbon and replenishes with regenerated and fresh carbon. Includes pumping of pregnant solutions (gold bearing) to refinery for gold recovery.
-Ensures copper concentrate grade is maintained according to established standards, filters by recovering water, feeds into dryer to remove excess water and packs into concentrate bags for shipping.
-Inspects and ensures that all milling machinery and equipment including the crusher plant are operational at all times and throughput is maximized.
-Reports to supervisor plant stoppage, breakdowns, major repair and maintenance problems and the need for replenishing materials and supplies necessary for mill operation.
-Performs other similar or related duties such as ensuring strict observance of safety regulations and procedures, scheduling shift rotations, preparing activity logs and reports, training mill operators, assisting in maintenance and repairs, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
-Completion of Secondary (12 years) education.
-Minimum 8 years experience in processing and milling operations, including scientific and mill technology training.
-Fair knowledge of English.
