Requirements
-Education: Bachelor of Structural Engineering Degree from accredited/well known university is a MUST requirement.
-Prior professional experience with between 15-20 years working experience in a structural design office or construction site office is a MUST requirement.
-English fluency is a must. (The employer’s designers and consultants are mostly European)
-Experience must include architectural building design works.
-A variety of steel structure experiences in structural analysis and design are MUST.
-Mixed use and irregular-shaped building project experience is a plus.
-Experience of working in construction sites is a strong PLUS.
-Overseas working experience is a PLUS, but not mandatory.
Job description
-We are seeking a few structural engineers with leadership, abilities and passion to fully commit himself to the project.
-The ideal candidate will have a strong verbal and written communication skill with English fluency. The individuals should be self-motivated and team players working well in team oriented environment with frequent day by day deadline tasks.
-Being in charge of contract document such as drawings and specification review, design development when necessary, subcontractor’s shop drawing review and in house shop drawing production on the steel structure, the individuals will work with a couple of structural engineer, construction team and subcontractors. But the candidates should be able to work independently based on his own knowledge and experience.
-Once hired, the estimated working period will be approx. two years. The candidate with team spirit, royalty & commitment to the project and good communication skill is the one that will suit this position.
Review contract documents such as drawings and specifications.
The candidate should be able to interpret the documents contractually as well as technically. And the ability to create design alternatives is also required.
Prepare / Review Construction Shop Drawing
-The candidate should be able to independently produce shop drawings for the Engineer’s (Employer’s representative) approval with assistance of our in–house draftsmen.
-And shop drawings are received from our subcontractors, the candidate needs to be able to check and evaluate them considering constructability and finally submit revised drawings in timely manner for Engineer’s approval.
-During this process, a lot of technical communication may be required to negotiate with Engineer’s staff and consultant to get the final approvals.
-In addition, the candidate should be able to coordinate with our in-house multi-discipline engineers and construction people to produce accurate shop drawings and design alternatives.
-Accordingly, excellent communication skills and technical knowledge are strongly required to carry out candidates’ tasks.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, structural analysis software such as ETABS/ROBOT/SAFE and steel structural detailing design.
-Strong knowledge of BS, EN codes is a MUST.
-Organized, dependable, accurate, positive attitude, and self-motivated.
-Must work well with others in one-team-environment.
