Summary
An Asset Controller is responsible for managing the Assets of the organization. The position must protect assets and monitor their depreciation.
Key Responsibilities
-Asset & Record Management
-Ensures that users follow with identification standards for material types, processes, life cycles, approval procedures, versions & formats.
-Ensure that all item codes are created with proper approval.
-Reviews and propose solution for all asset discrepancies.
-Analyzes all variation and makes recommendations to perform asset inventory.
-Perform internal audits of the process.
-Use standard accounting practices to record and track all transactions related to company’s hard assets, including barcoding / labelling.
-Maintain asset inventory database.
-Record depreciation, manage taxation and represent organization in fixed assets audits.
-Conduct timely physical audit of fixed assets inventory to validate accuracy of records.
-Record acquisitions, expenditure or disposals of assets based on Costs, Benefits, Risks,
Schedule, Priority.
-Research trends and share industry specific best practices with Supply Chain Mngr. to debate and for implementation.
Qualifications & Soft Competencies:
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance / Supply Chain
-Minimum 5 to 7 years experience in similar role
-High Level IT skills
-Working Knowledge of ERP
-English Language
-Knowledge of Inventory Management Standards
-Ability to prepare & analyse financial reports
-Interpersonal & communication (oral & written)
-Time Management
