MAJOR SHUTDOWN (4-6 MONTHS)
Major Responsibilities and Duties
-To conduct trainings for employees on occupational safety and safe working in the project site.
-Conduct work safety analysis, preparation of procedures for safe working, tool box talks, safety audits, and documentation required as per the contract.
-Safety Engineer in the refinery complex advises Contractor's management on health, environment and safety aspects, plans safety program / procedure for the contract, educate, train and inform Contractor's employees about health and safety aspects and monitor the compliance.
-Investigates accident and near misses, strictly comply with Fire & Safety Regulations and to ensure compliance with Fire & Safety expectations.
-To coordinate, liaise and communicate with Industrial Safety Division. Knowledge of all associated hazards and the safety aspects required for safe execution of jobs.
-Should be fully conversant with Work Permit System, Safe erection of scaffolding, Safety inspection procedures, Training to employees, Multilock System, Electrical Area Classification etc
-Well informed on all activities of contractor personnel for planned / breakdown / turnaround mechanical field maintenance and modification / construction for both Rotating & Stationery Equipment.
-Inspects job sites to ensure specified procedures, standards, Fire & Safety Regulations are followed. Conversant with International codes and standards on safety viz. ANSI, API, NFPA etc.
-Should have thorough knowledge on accident reporting and investigation procedures.
-Advise the contractor’s management on all safety aspects for safe executions of assigned contract in compliance with Site safety practices, standards and regulations.
-Advise requirement of Personal Protective Equipment in line with Site safety practices, ensure compliance, inspect and maintain record of these Personal Protective Equipment.
-Monitor the compliance of Work Permit System by the contractor employees.
-Get fully conversant with Site Fire and Safety Regulation, Major Incident Procedure Plan and Emergency Evacuation Plan. Report and investigate all accidents of the contractor employees
-Coordinate, liaise and communicate with Site Safety Section and attend weekly meetings.
-Attends call out after working hours.
-Ensure Health, Safety and Environment Management system (HSEMS) requirements are followed to meet the company and the client specifications and standards.
Qualification and Experience
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or fire and safety with minimum 8 years experience in Refinery, Petro Chemical, Power Station, Construction projects, etc.
