OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 5.00 PM (MON TO SAT)
Basic Function:
Supervises, directs and carries out a variety of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, installation and repair of a variety of electrical equipment, instruments, A/C installations, distribution and supply systems. Work covers all industrial and non-industrial facilities.
Work Performed:
-Supervises the activities of assigned personnel in Electrical Maintenance. Performs supervisory functions at the level established by management for the job.
-Oversees maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, systems, installations, etc. Includes obtaining necessary work permits, ensuring proper isolation of work site, in accordance with such permits, monitoring progress and checking completed work. Trouble-shoots complex electrical problems.
-Initiates requisitions for spares and equipment from stock in warehouse as required. Reports shortages in commonly used materials as identified. Identifies urgently required materials as spare parts for direct purchase and notifies supervisor.
-Schedules day to day systematic maintenance, such as topping up batteries, cleaning and tightening connections, checking emergency lighting loops and signs, checking condition of substations, etc., in accordance with established programs.
-Prepares drawings of modifications carried out on electrical, A/C and other systems, in cases where the end results differ from initial drawing/specifications.
-Assists with the on-the-job training of Electrical and A/C Technicians.
-Certifies completion of preventive maintenance and repair work. Includes checking work carried out and signing preventive maintenance sheets and work orders which are then used as maintenance history records.
-Prepares daily work reports detailing manpower utilized, jobs carried out, time spent, etc. Assists in the preparation of weekly and monthly reports, as required.
-Carries out other similar or related duties such as assisting with the work scheduling and discipline of maintenance and repairs; maintaining a continuous awareness of spare parts and materials utilization and ensuring that all section tools and equipment are kept clean and well maintained at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
-Completion of Secondary (12 years) education plus 2 years formal training leading to a diploma in general electrical maintenance.
-Minimum 9 to 10 years' experience in a similar job in the Mining industry.
-Good knowledge of English.
