JOB DESCRIPTION
-Performs maintenance and repairs on electronic instruments including microprocessor-based system.
-Diagnose problems or potential problems and rectify by repairing.
-Performs preventative maintenance of various test equipments and control instruments.
-Requisitions instrument supplies, tools and test equipment.
-Co-ordinates instrument repair and test work in the workshop.
-Carries out overhaul and servicing which shall include but not limited electronic recorders, transmitters controllers, valve smart positioners, converters, switches, relays and like.
-Shall have skill to read electronic circuits.
-Follows and trouble-shoots faults on various types of instrument using diagnostic equipment and manufacture's maintenance manuals.
-Repair various test equipment i.e. H2S gas testes, salinity testers and like.
-Skilled in the use of tools and test equipment for repair works in variety of instruments.
SKILL LEVEL DESCRIPTION
Qualifications
-Diploma in Instrumentation/ electrical/ electronic or equivalent with four (4) years of experience at similar position or have Higher Secondary Certificate and ITC / ITI with eight (8) year of experience of which four (4) years’ in similar position in Oil and Gas industry.
-Should have component level knowledge in trouble shooting of Electronic equipment.
-Have relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry fore installation, repair and maintenance of electronic metering instruments and control systems.
-Skill to check, calibrate and repair pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic instruments and controls and protective interlocks.
-Exposure to protective system, start up logic, vibration and governing system of reciprocating/ centrifugal machines.
-Be able to complete assigned jobs without direct supervision.
-Able to read P&ID’s, loop diagrams etc.
-Be able to speak/read/write English.
Sound exposure to some of the following:-
-PLC such as Siemens, Hima, Allen Bradley etc.
-DCS’s such as Rosemount RS-3/ Foxboro IAS/ Honeywell TDC3000 and like.
-Protective system, startup/shutdown sequences vibration and governing/engine management systems of Gas Turbines a such as interlocks equipment.
