Job Purpose
Olefins and Aromatics process technology expert responsible for process system engineering covering process synthesis, design, modeling and simulation, piloting, separation optimization, integration (e.g. pinch analysis), intensification, optimization, techno-economic and sustainability analysis of new processes.
Core Responsibilities
-Apply fundamental and innovative engineering principles, know how’s including heat and mass transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and simulation and modeling, to invent and develop novel process and technical solutions in the area of Olefins and Aromatics chemicals. Work on multi-year technology breakthrough process designs from local pilot to commercial scales internationally.
-Demonstrate in depth process knowledge and proficiency on identifying and leading successful research programs for developing advanced technologies in the area of Olefins and Aromatics.
-Apply robust scientific research methodologies to analyze and interpret experimental / research data, develop simulation, predictive modeling and analysis tools for technology development.
-Perform CDP and preliminary economic evaluations on new processes and estimate the potential investment and business value.
-Conduct due diligence and feasibility studies on emerging Technologies / Advancements in Olefins and Aromatics Technology. Prepare technology white paper to translate technical knowledge into relevant recommendations and guidance for senior management.
-Train and Mentor project leaders and team, effectively utilize global engineering resources and assets in strategic breakthrough technology development projects.
-Coordinate and collaborate as necessary with external professional bodies (consortium), forums, research entities, expert groups and technology providers to keep abreast with relevant areas and for collaboration to achieve SABIC business objectives.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Minimum Post Graduate Degree in Chemical Engineering
Experience:
Minimum 15 years of experience in Research and Development of Technologies for Olefins and Aromatics process including alternative technologies with focus on energy efficient and carbon neutral technologies.
