Educational and Technical Qualifications/ Certifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
Years and Nature of Experience:
More than 7 years in a similar role of which minimum 3 years of supervisory experience preferably in the area of infrastructure project design and management
JOB PURPOSE
The role holder is responsible for supervising the Inspector in executing all strategies and plans related to Kahramaa’s installation projects in Electricity Projects Department. The role holder is also responsible for ensuring that relevant safety procedures are followed on site during all phases of project implementation, in compliance with all relevant standards and benchmarks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities:
-Assists Project Engineer in reviewing, and checking design of 400 kV to 11 kV voltage level installations, and ensures compliance with all relevant specifications and standards
-Monitors construction site activities, supervises project implementation of minor, medium and major size projects, and controls the implementation of project execution activities, in line with the prescribed specifications and project design
-Coordinates with Engineer to understand the established project scheduling tools and procedures, in order to assist subordinates and consultants in implementing various activities of the project
-Assists in monitoring installation site activities to ensure electricity projects objectives, related to are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters, in coordination with Electricity Projects Department
-Coordinates with Inspector in enhancing the performance of consultants, provides technical expertise in matters related to head works construction activities, ensures that the documented scope of work is executed, safety regulations are followed, and quality of installation and workmanship, is line with corporate standards and established specifications
-Coordinates with relevant departments in troubleshooting and analysing root causes of faults in projects, if any, in order to minimize breakdown time of equipment
-Ensures that all cost reduction opportunities are pursued and leveraged in projects, as appropriate
-Inspects and monitors substation installation site activities, to ensure objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters
-Prepares all documentation related to installation of Kahramaa’s electricity projects and ensures these are well managed, for easy access, when required
-Analyses all disputes related to contractor payments and/ or claims and highlights the same to Project Engineer to ensure effective negotiation and resolution in coordination with Electricity Projects Department
-Reviews and raises requisitions for technical journals and ensures a robust operating procedure is in place for matters related to publishing of technical documentation
-Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9001-2008 certification
-Performs all project activities after commissioning/ contractual handing over like site visits, attends defects clearance, as per instruction from the concerned Project Manager/ Supervisor
-Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Electricity Projects Section are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
Self Management Responsibilities:
-Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year
-Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended
-Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth
