OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 5.00 PM
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
-Supervises jobs of Process Engineers and guides as required.
-Provides process support for safe and trouble free operations of the units.
-Identifies process–related problems and plans suitable cost effective solutions
-Key contributor for improving refining margins
-Reviews plant modifications, new catalysts, chemicals
-Plans regeneration of catalysts and test runs as required
-Reviews existing technology and develops case for revamp and expansion plans or installation of new facilities to achieve overall improvement in plant performance and productivity.
-Active participant in the profit improvement programme (PIP), project steering teams, in-house HAZOP reviews, task force teams and incident investigation committees.
-Mentoring responsibilities of the fresh National graduate engineers (developees).
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process support to operations
Reviews summaries prepared by Process Engineers. Discusses irregularities/ deviations with Process engineer, Operations and provides suggestions as required.
Identification of problems & troubleshooting
Identifies problem areas and proposes solutions and checks similar proposals submitted by process engineers.
Improvement to refining margins
Reviews Profit Improvement Program items, yields, catalyst, chemicals, operating conditions, and initiate changes as required
Projects / Plant modifications
Conceptualises / reviews plant modifications, checks data, design basis for new projects, reviews PFDs, P&IDs data sheets, drawings, participates in HAZOP, commissioning and performance tests.
Catalyst Regeneration and Test Runs
Recommends timing, schedule and reviews operating conditions for catalyst regeneration, test runs. Reviews guarantees are met.
Review of existing technology
Reviews existing technology while keeping abreast of new developments to determine its suitability/ feasibility.
Capital/ operating budgets
Prepares/reviews process-related capital and operating budgets taking into account past and present performance of the plants and processes and new technological developments.
Application of modern tools
Application of process engineering simulation models and use of other software packages, computer tools.
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:
-Graduate course (B.Sc./ B.E.) in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Processing Engineering.
-Minimum 7 years experience in process and utilities of Refineries, Petrochemical or Gas plant in Process engineering discipline.
-Proficiency in English language and expertise in technical report writing.
-Proficient user of relevant Computer applications and software.
