Job Purpose:
IMG Worlds of Adventure are looking for a highly motivated and energetic Waiter/ Waitress to join our pre-opening team, to provide support to the Restaurant Team Leader.
Main responsibilities:
-Serving food and beverages to guests in the restaurant efficiently and in the most courteous and friendly manner.
-Provide a professional, efficient and flexible service at all times as per company standards to ensure maximum guest satisfaction.
Description/ Key Result Areas:
Operational tasks:
-Support the Restaurant Team Leader daily by serving food and beverages as required.
-Set up tables according to the procedure and standards.
-Greet guests and seat them according to preference.
-Inform guests about the menu options and specials and take their orders.
-On guest request, provide additional information about menu items.
-Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all food and beverage items offered by the Restaurant and perform upselling, where applicable.
-Operate the POS system and make sure special requirements are captured (e.g. less spicy)
-Place orders with the kitchen staff and follow up where needed.
-Fill and refill beverages as per guest needs.
-Before serving food, ensure the order is prepared according to menu and guest request.
-Check quality and quantity of food prior to serving.
-Serve meals and side dishes and deliver food carts to designated areas.
-Obtain relevant items from the storeroom.
-Prepare guests bills, issue receipts, accept payments and return change.
-Clear tables and ensure the table tops are cleaned.
-Carry all dishes and items to the kitchen.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications:
High school
Preferred:
Qualification in Hotel and Restaurant Management
Knowledge:
-Cleaning procedures and use of machines (e.g. dishwashing machine)
-Basic food knowledge & cooking skills
Experience:
2 years casual/ fine dining Restaurant experience
Preferred:
Experience in POS system
