Description:
Work as part of a site commissioning team for a the Umm Al Houl Power (UHP) Independent Water and Power Plant multi-shaft combined-cycle power plant utilizing Siemens turbines and control systems. Must have the ability to self perform as well lead every aspect of the work. Will interact with Samsung management, OEM technical advisors, and client operations staff as necessary to ensure the successful implementation of the UHP facility.
Responsibilities:
-Implement the approved project Lock-Out Tag-Out (LOTO) and Permit-to-Work (PTW) Programs
-Support pre-operational and operational commissioning for the entire facility
-Develop, recommend and implement modifications as required to ensure safe operation of the power plant equipment
-Maintain the LOTO and PTW database for all activities
-Report program status as required
-Assist with the coordination tie-in work to the new water facility
-Security and safekeeping of LOTO/PTW office keys, locks, and documents
-Support planning, documentation, approval, final clearance, and switching for all high voltage systems • -Maintaining the supply of all LOTO and PTW consumable materials, ordering as necessary
Minimum Skills/Knowledge:
-Excellent understanding of combined-cycle power systems; protection and control devices, functions and interrelationships
-Perfect understanding for energy isolations, release of residual energy, and properly securing the isolation device
-Computer literate with Microsoft and various software applications
-Ability to review and understand multi-discipline (mechanical, electrical, control systems, etc.) drawings and documents
-Ability to review and understand OEM supplier drawings and information
-Excellent written and spoken English language skills
Education/Experience:
-Bachelor degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent technical degree with additional related experience.
-Ten years of power plant system commissioning, start-up and operating experience with minimum of five years combustion-turbine, simple/combined cycle power plant electrical system commissioning, start-up operation experience
-Previous engineering experience developing and testing trip matrix applications for combined-cycle power plants
-Extensive permit to work and lock-out tag-out training and experience

-IWPP experience
