We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer based in Doha, Qatar. Working in a multidisciplinary team, this is an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to develop their international experience with a rapidly evolving organization.
Responsibilities
-Assume responsibility and represent the road design department in all aspects related to geotechnical study, tests, evaluation/interpretation and specifications.
-Provide leadership in all relevant departmental functions in relation to expertise.
-Lead external & internal coordination pertinent to geotechnical engineering.
-Review, comment / recommend acceptance or otherwise of related consultants’ submissions.
-Comprehensive responsibility for management and control of related functions in in-house projects, including detailed scope definition and initiation, work progress and completion and staff management.
-Ability to conduct and manage actual geotechnical testing when required.
-Performance of actual design duties when directed.
-Performance of other related duties as per management instructions.
Essential Requirements
-BSc / B.Eng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering or other Geotechnical Engineering Degrees from an institute of repute.
-Minimum 12 years of demonstrable experience in geotechnical fields and all related disciplines.
-Proven proficiency in the state-of-the-art technologies in geotechnical engineering.
-In depth knowledge of British standards related to Geotechnical Engineering.
-Excellent written & spoken communication in English.
-Excellent management, problem solving, communication, & negotiation skills.
-Presentation to technical & non-technical audiences.
-Proficiency in using relevant engineering tools and geotechnical analysis software.
Desirable Requirements
-Master of Science degree in relevant specialization from an institute of repute.
-Satisfactory experience in a variety of civil engineering disciplines.
-Working knowledge in American and Australian standards.
