Educational and Technical Qualifications/ Certifications:
B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
Years and Nature of Experience:
More than 7 years of relevant experience in a similar industry or in a similar role of which minimum 3 years of supervisory experience preferably in the area of mechanical engineering
JOB PURPOSE
The role holder is responsible for mechanical supervision and monotiring of project execution within Kahramaa’s Power and Water Production projects. The role holder is also responsible for monitoring and supervise QA/QC systems and safety standards implementation during project execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities:
-Prepares specifications, mechanical scope of work and Power and Water Production project tender documents
-Carries out design review of the mechanical part for IWPP Power & Water Projects
-Attends site review and project progress meetings
-Inspects Site Erection Work and reviews commissioning and testing of Gas Turbines, Steam turbines, fuel gas supply & Treatment Plant, Desalination Plants-MSFE, MED, Heat Recovery steam generators, Electromechanical works in EHV substations, Seawater/ Potable Water pump houses and water treatment plant
-Attends site reviews & project progress meetings
-Reviews performance tests, reliability tests, commissioning tests, acceptability tests of power plant, facility tests in the projects and reviews test reports
-Attends annual dependable capacity tests and reviews test reports & calculations and declares the plant capacities as per PWPA
-Monitors and supervise in QA/QC systems and safety standards implementation during project execution
-Ensures compliance of mechanical international standards, codes and Kahramaa standards
-Prepares specification, scope of work and Power and Water Production tender documents
-Manages mechanical design reviews for Power and Water Production projects
-Reviews prequalification documents of contractors and equipment suppliers
-Performs follow up processes on technical and contractual issues in Power and Water Production projects
-Checks for compliance of Mechanical International Standards & Codes and Kahramaa standards
-Evaluates technical proposals submitted by IWPP developers and EPC contractors
-Contributes in the technical clarifications meeting with bidders for mechanical issues
-Performs other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor
-Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
-Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Power and Water Production Project section are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
Self-Management Responsibilites:
-Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the reporting manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the course of the year
-Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the reporting manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended
-Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth
