KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Educational and Technical Qualifications/ Certifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, post-graduate certification / degree preferred.
Years and Nature of Experience:
More than 10 years of relevant experience in a similar industry of which minimum 4 years of supervisory experience preferably in the area of water or electricity project management
JOB PURPOSE
The role holder is responsible for effectively lead the technical team in their work towards meeting the organizational standards for Water and Power Producers projects. The role holder is furthermore responsible for supervise and monitor the overall project executions, commissions and testing of project technicalities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Responsibilities:
-Leads the supervision and monitoring of project execution, commissioning and testing of projects
-Reviews the basic design process, scoping of work, technical specification preparation and technical coordination for Power and Water Production projects
-Coordinates actions with the Commercial and Legal team leader in project issues
-Leads the preparation work of tender documents, consultancy contracts and other Power and Water Production related agreements
-Leads the technical side of preparation of tendering documentation, evaluation of consultancy services bids and the technical evaluation of Power and Water Projects bid offers
-Leads the final preparation work for project agreements until sign-off and acts as the Project Manager for Power and Water Production projects in the construction stage
-Follows up cash flow, budget allocations, invoice processing for Power and Water Production projects and consultancy projects
-Finalizes PWPA until signing off all project agreements
-Coordinates with electrical and water networks planning
-Manages the handing over process and finalization of EHV substations to O&M
-Attends and coordinates with end user departments in annual dependable capacity tests and reviews of test reports
-Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
-Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Power and Water Production Project Section are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
People Management Responsibilites:
-Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team
-Develops talent within the team by providing guidance and support to achieve the targets
-Ensures objective periodic administration of the performance appraisal process, complemented by ongoing coaching and training
-Follows HR policies and procedures for all people management aspects
-Contributes to the development of Qatarization trainee programs and support the implementation of the same
