WELL INTEGRITY DEPARTMENT
Primary Purpose of the Job
Coordinate and provide Well Integrity engineering support to Well Integrity Dukhan fields including all engineering aspects of well integrity studies, interpretations and evaluation of well data to ensure integrity of Dukhan wells throughout the well life cycle from its conception to abandonment. Review drilling. workover and completion proposals specifically related to wen integrity concerns including frequent workover rig visits. P1an and evaluate trials of new technology, including close site supervision through frequent well visits to diagnose and solve wen integrity issues. Arrange and participate in interdisciplinary studies and coordination meetings, while frequent travelling to Doha and Dukhan. and advise on well integrity related solutions.
Principal Accountabilities
-Design processes for data investigation and analyse well integrity problems to recommend corrective measures to establish integrity of Dukhan wells, as well as the safety of working staff and the Dukhan community. Design and develop strategy, and prepare well programs for critical wells, to carryout the wen integrity investigations.
-Search and evaluate innovative technology to improve well integrity diagnostics and remedial action. Plan and prepare well programs for innovative technology trial.
-Visit Dukhan wells to; supervise the implementation and quality control of critical activities, supervise the execution of innovative technology trials. and based on these trials, recommend contracting the services to establish integrity of Dukhan wells riglessly by reducing downtime and cost; attend safety audit of operational activities as well as for contractor's equipment and staff as a part of the continued improvement plan.
-Visit work-over rigs frequently to inspect the condition of pulled out completion and suggest measures to improve the life cycle of well completion. Ensure the integrity status of all the wells is up-to-date and issues and deficiencies are documented and reported.
-Evaluate drilling. work-over and completion proposals specifically related to well integrity concerns. including the assessment of Well Integrity KPis during the implementation phase. Provide technical support to the asset holders and drilling department to ensure that all Dukhan wells are safe when integral to production.
-Assess the wellbore integrity of Dukhan wells and prioritize ranking through risk analysis. in terms of possible communication, by evaluating wellbore cement quality, especially across reservoir and potential aquifer formations. Coordinate/lead HAZOP and Risk Assessment (RA) to maintain the optimum Well Integrity practices including, updating and analyzing WIMS data to maintain its performance updated and as per requirement.
-Optimize annual budget for technical services, prepare scope of work for the required services, evaluate bids and follow contracts under processing, to contribute actively for the achievement of WI departmental KPI.
-Design safe operating envelope (MAASP and MA WOP) for Dukhan wells to ensure safe well operation by evaluating annuli pressures, laboratory results of annuli effluents, corrosion reports and cased-hole logs analysis for tubing and casings.
-Diagnose and correlate the downhole well integrity issues through well performance modelling by using "PROSPER" software, especially for gas lift and water injection wells.
-Review existing well design and operation and recommend improvement in the light of API and NORSOK International Standards to ensure Dukhan wells integrity. Review quality of water being injected into Powered Water Injectors and recommend feasible options to control erosion, corrosion and scaling.
-Develop and mentor developee engineers, as well as the less experience expatriate engineers and assist the Assistant Manager. Well Integrity Engineering with critical technical and administrate work.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
-Minimum BS Petroleum Engineering preferably MS Petroleum Engineering with minimum 12 years work experience as a Petroleum Engineer in oil and gas upstream industry with demonstrated and proven Petroleum Engineering expertise including drilling. well completion, workover and well integrity studies and review of large and mature oil and gas fields.
-Proven experience of recommending remedial work solutions for all types of wells.
-Experience in well integrity engineering and planning. well data interpretation and analysis, and critical diagnostic challenges for the corrective and proactive measures to ensure integrity of the wells as well as the safety of employees and community.
-Experience with well performance modelling (inflow / outflow) for all types of wells.
-Must have experience / knowledge of Petroleum Engineering software (PROSPER,
OFM).
-Must be familiar with API and NORSOK International Standards related to Well Integrity Management.
-Hands on experience or well integrity management software (WJMS).
-Experience with interpretation of cased hole diagnostic logs.
-Must have strong teamwork skills, and it would be an advantage to have experience working in a multicultural environment at leading position.
-Must have experience and willingness to mentor less experienced engineers.
-Desirable to have experience working in mature production fields where retrieving and integrating well data from files and variable sources is challenging.
-Highly skilled (technically and professionally) with thorough under understanding of well construction and completion design and demonstrable experience in maintenance / integrity philosophies and practices.
-Skilled in the evaluation, analysis and interpretation of technical information and assessing risk.
-The role will require preparation of technical reports and presenting recommendations at all levels within the organization and also outside if required.
