OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
Manage lifting plan, provide all requirements for day to day operation, plan shipping capacity, maintain relationship with shipping lines, brokers within IMC logistics strategy and procedures with the objective of improving on time delivery and minimizing logistics cost. This is all done through evaluating comprehensive offers for chartering in, assisting in chartering the best tonnage/rate, participating in the development of performance indexes/ policies/guidelines, establishing tonnage requirements and forecasts
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Annual Business Planning.
-Develop shipping capacity for adequacy vs. sales plan, estimate new shipment capacity and budgets required, finalize lifting plan in order to meet the annual sales plan with minimum logistic cost.
-Participates in joint negotiations with concerned Shipping Lines/ FR Forwarders/ Transporters, the booking the containers and trucks needed, both spot and long term contracts.
Reporting
Report to managements any deviation in business plan and objectives especially in shipping timeliness, accuracy and cost in order to ensure execution of each activity as per the business plan and to adjust business plan to incorporate deviation.
Shipment Scheduling
Process new orders in the system, schedule orders, inform all parties of shipping schedules and changes as and when they occur in order to ensure on time delivery.
Supplier Relationship Management
Negotiate the shipping agreements with the shipping Lines, FR Forwarders and transporters, provide regular feedback on service, and maintain a close contact by making continuous visits IN ORDER TO ensure that shipping Lines, FR Forwarders and transporters performance is in line with or better than the agreement's terms & conditions.
Distribution Management
Plan quantities to be shipped by port or land, select service provider and create shipping schedule in consultation with sales, book containers and trucks in the spot market or for long term contract if service providers do not have capacity IN ORDER TO ensure on time delivery at the minimum possible logistics cost.
Evaluations
Evaluates and reviews comprehensive offers received on potential shipping lines and transporters to be chartered in, covering the aspects of economics, ownership, and quality of service providers.
Performance indexing
Participates in developing performance indexes to improve and optimize the utilization of containers/trucks, as well as establishing policy and guidelines pertaining to shipping Lines, FR Forwarders and transporters in order to suit Ma’adens requirements and interest.
Shipping Schedules
Monitors and assists in analyzing and updating regularly shipping schedules and Ma’aden’s tonnage requirements against the short and long term forecasts.
Costs
-Monitors, follows-up and/ or participates in updating and computing costs of operating shipping Lines, FR Forwarders and transporters to the main/major destination. Also, reviews various other relevant analyses of actual costs versus market levels and provides analysis to logistics section head.
-Assists in reviewing existing systems/methods/procedures for carrying out the day-to-day operations.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Qualifications:
Diploma in Administration with preferably in Maritime or 2 years work experience in similar Job.
Skills:
Very good command in English speaking, reading & writing. Negotiation Skills. Freight Forwarding (Maritime knowledge), Problem Solving. Skills in Planning & Coordination. Very Good knowledge of Windows Applications.
