OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 5.00 PM (MON TO SAT)
OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
To assist the shift supervisor in achieving the production target by ensuring smooth pot operation of one reduction room, comprising 180 pots, and by effectively executing the operations with the assistance of a team of operators.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operations
-Review the pots abnormal report and take the necessary actions and follow up on abnormalities as required in order to make the pots operating within normal/target operating parameters.
-Make sure that the pot room activities are carried out as per the procedure by regularly checking the activities and the pots.
-Regularly during the shift, check the computer alarm messages and take corrective action.
-Check the individual pots for any sign of leakages or hot spots.
-Check and arrange to skim accumulation of any carbon dust from the pots, especially the new pots.
-Check the conditions of the PTM, vehicles and any other equipment used in reduction room to ensure that they are maintained in good conditions.
-Monitor the VDU for operational data and locate any abnormalities for appropriate decision making.
-Maintains vigilance throughout the reduction room looking for any unsafe conditions, damages or abnormalities in operations and keeps the shift supervisor informed of the state of operations.
-Carry out non-routine activities of preparations for shutdown or re-start of the pots.
-Ensures that all the housekeeping activities on the pots, bus bars and operating floors are carried out.
-Make sure that the normal measurements are carried out during the shift and assist the measurement operator for any non-routine measurements during the shift.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
The job holder requires being qualified on all operational areas within the responsibility of the shift and is likely to have a Technical Diploma certificate with a minimum of three years of experience in the area of responsibility.
