Scope of Responsibilities
-Provide Technical Engineering guidance to Company supervision and craft to ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instructions applicable to one or more disciplines.
Primary Duties
Generic Responsibilities:
-Provide technical direction and implement the project construction work processes, procedures, manuals and systems ensuring that the contractors are building to the latest revision of the drawings, specifications, and procedures.
-Ensure compliance with all company statutory procedures and quality and safety standards including any defined recording and reporting procedures.
-Monitor and perform technical audits, in progress inspections, testing and surveillance activities to ensure that project quality requirements are being met.
-Perform front-end activities such as supporting the development of site automation plan, contributing to design of temporary facilities and utilities and supporting the development and implementation of field material control system.
Work in cooperation with Completions group and owner representatives, perform system identification and turnover of completed project facilities including preparation of necessary turnover documentation.
-Perform Constructability reviews and studies to optimize design. Propose modifications to engineering design and interpret drawings, specifications and other technical documents for the subcontractors.
-Coordinate with and support construction vendor representatives during their assignments on the jobsite.
-Monitor generation of field materials requisitions (FMR), receipt of materials, and preparation of material summary reports.
-Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations etc.
Discipline Specific Responsibilities:
-Participate in Site survey activities, verifying accuracy and completeness.
-Responsible for Petrofac ‘Total Station’ survey equipment. Uses this to perform verification activities.
-Verifies all subcontractor civil measuring equipment is calibrated.
-Measure civil and structural quantities achieved, agree with supervision, and report to project controls daily.
-Regularly audits batching plant activities and ensures that all required test cubes and slumps are provided.
-Performs in-process inspections of hidden details such as re-bar, embeds and cathodic protection.
-Performs in-process inspections of stored perishable material to ensure adequate facilities provided for weather and ground protection.
Minimum Requirement
-Engineering Degree from an accredited college or university.
-At least 10 years’ Prior experience in the design and construction of petrochemical facilities.
-Preferably working with an international EPC company.
-Previous construction (field) engineering experience.
-Excellent leadership and communications skills.
Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:
-Work experience in the Middle East, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), and/or north and west Africa.
-Direct hire construction experience.
