Role Purpose Statement:
Supports sourcing & procurement’s representation in the tendering preparation by running and executing all necessary technical and cost-related analysis to provide support to the technical tendering in the definition of the industrial scheme, costing activities and projections and vendor list optimization.
Accountabilites
-Maintains the costing data base updated with market prices for all items requested by technical tendering.
-Validate the proposed definition of the industrial scheme and associated sourcing plan with technical tendering collaborating with key commodity management as needed
-Ensure realistic lead times in tenders and considered and participate in tender planning, preparation and validation
-Activity advice the tendering team about market capacity, product qualities, price problems/issued or other tender relevant critical items
-Ensure implementation of the defined global sourcing policy in the assigned tenders and coordinate with the “make or buy” policy as defined by global manufacturing
-Define the specific vendor list for each tender to maximize sourcing opportunities and to limit the risks
-Participate in Tendering Gate Reviews for key projects to identify risks and opportunities and to advice the tendering team on all sourcing relevant issues
-Consolidate information gained and collected during tendering processes from competitors to input Alstom sourcing strategies and policies
-Operate the supply base
-Provide price input to tendering
-Define purchase order allocation
Skills & relevant experience – must have
-Degree in engineering or business administration
-Minimum 4 to 5 years experience in at least one supply chain functions, preferably procurement or sourcing
-Excellent analytical skills
-Excellent command of English.
Nice to Have’s
-Prior experience in tender business and commercial aspects.
-Specific knowledge of Alstom products and industry.
-Several languages
