JOB DESCRIPTION
-The Company's Refining Facility uses a highly instrumented and modern microprocessor based process analyzers for qualitative and quantitative assessment. The Analyzer Supervisor will be responsible to perform hand-on maintenance, repair and servicing of online process analyzers and those used for monitoring the environment for explosive and toxic gases.
-He will familiarize himself and assist to implement the Company's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Management System. He will be responsible to ensure the availability of Analyzer Systems and will be required to generate a daily, monthly report to reflect the percentage availability and submit the failure cause report. He will report to Engineer Analyzer and work per his instruction to meet the Company's objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma (3 years full time course) in Chemical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent from a recognized technical institution or from a Polytechnic.
EXPERIENCE
-Minimum 10 years experience in Maintenance of Process Analyzers in an Operating Hydrocarbon Refinery or similar operating plants in the Oil and Gas Industry.
-The incumbent will have an understanding of Petroleum Chemistry and good knowledge of physical methods of analysis and parameters used for qualitative and quantitative assessment of Petroleum products like Smoke Point, Flash Point, Reed Vapor Pressure, Initial Boiling Point, Viscosity, Specific Gravity / Density, Ph, Conductivity etc.
-He will also have experience and knowledge of interfacing the process analyzers in control strategies implemented on state of art Distributed Control Systems and Fault Tolerant Emergency Shutdown System.
NATURE OF EXPERIENCE
-Should have experience of working in a similar jobs and similar capacity in the Oil and Gas Industry and preferably in a Hydrocarbon Refinery.
-Should be conversant with modern state of art online process analyzers used in Refinery application.
-Should be conversant with Industrial Pollution Requirements, Recommended Practices I Regulations for Waste Management System and knowledge of OSHA, EPA guidelines.
-Should have knowledge of interfacing process analyzers with DES I ESD Systems. Familiarization with International Standards like API, ANSI and NFPA, NEC, IEEE etc. will have added value.
-Understanding of Hazardous Area Classification & Safety Requirement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
-Develop a complete understanding of Refinery's operating facilities, vis-à-vis the quality assurance analyzers in open loop & closed loop systems.
-Closely coordinate with plant operating personnel to provide services as required.
-Develop and implement a quality assurance program for maintenance of the Refinery analyzer systems as per directions.
-Responsible to perform the preventive and breakdown maintenance of process and ambient analyzers in plant areas including Analyzer Shelters.
-Provide technical guidance to the supporting craftsman.
-Participate and encourage subordinate craftsman to report Near Miss Incidents and Safety Suggestions.
-Participate in training courses conducted by the Company like Work Permit Authorization, Handling Breathing Apparatus, Fire Fighting and use of Fire Extinguisher's etc.
-Practice the Tool Box talk before commencement of any work plant area.
-Possess good hand-on knowledge on maintenance of online process and ambient air monitoring analyzers.
-Computer literate and working experience on Windows Operating System.
-Knowledge of physical methods of analysis and sample handling systems and operating principles of process online analyzers for qualitative and quantitative assessment using data acquisition computers and microprocessors etc, Typically

-Knowledge of Colorimetric Detectors Flame Ionizations, Thermal Conductivity Detectors, Absorption and Adsorption, Spectra’s Detection methods in Visible / UV / IR ranges, Optical Measurement Techniques, DC/AC conversion methods, Linearising Techniques.
-Knowledge in metric system of measurement and engineering units applicable to physical parameters used in analytical measurement.
-Maintain equipment historical and performance records.
-Suggest improvements in existing Job Procedures, Safety Practices, Plant Improvements, Maintenance Manuals and the like to optimize man hour utilization in a safe manner.
-Liaise with Maintenance Planning Division to generate Maintenance Work Orders, desk Top Requisitions, Catalogue Requests in the Company's online MAXIMO System and coordinate with other Divisions of the
Refinery.
-Project future spare parts requirement and optimize warehouse inventory.
-Execute approved plant modifications.
-Supervise on behalf of the Company contract work force for third party major projects.
COMMUNICATION SKILL
The Supervisor Analyzer will have a good command in reading, writing, and oral understanding of English as a language. He will be expected to coordinate with other disciplines like Electrical Maintenance, Safety & Fire, Mechanical, Maintenance Planning etc. He will be required to assist in equipment failure analysis reports in additions to daily, monthly report on the works carried out in the assigned facilities.
