Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
-B.E. in Mechanical, Environmental or Maritime disciplines.
-Certified to IMO level - Management of Spill Incidents.
-Excellent written and spoken English.
-Excellent communication and presentation skills, with high leadership qualities.
-Certified in NEBOSH, lOSH or other internationally recognised safety standard
-15 years experience in oil and gas and maritime business
-10 years pollution response experience both on and offshore
-High skills and knowledge in emergency planning and high leadership.
Primary Purpose of the Job
Develop and coordinate and the Qatar Petroleum oil spill mutual aid system for responding to any oil spill incident including the training, exercises and drills. Conduct risk analysis studies and identify appropriate measures to issues relating to oil spill preparedness, response and coordination.
Principal Accountabilities
-Provide guidance and assistance in the development of oil spill contingency plans.
-Provide information and assistance to all parties in the development of the oil spill response mutual aid system.
-Organize all training requirements for oil spill personnel as well as members of the oil spill mutual aid system.
-Provide information regarding response strategies and techniques that are most suitable for responding to oil spill incidents.
-Develop, maintain and coordinate implementation of training, exercises and drills.
-Coordinate and carryout safety and job hazard analysis and identify appropriate measures to reduce risk and to improve safety and health of oil spill response teams.
-Prepare, deliver presentations and lectures relevant to oil spill response management and techniques.
-Keep corporate, and petroleum operators appropriately informed of known potential hazards that might affect them if they occur and make alert of arrangements being made or should be made to control or minimize the risks.
-Participate in oil spill forum to increase development and participation in oil spill response mutual aid system.
-Develop and maintain sensitivity atlas and tactics sheets for Qatar Petroleum.
