WELL INTEGRITY DEPARTMENT
Primary Purpose of the Job:
Supervise and participate in Dukhan Well Integrity testing, and annuals leaks investigation for oil, gas and water wells. Plan and specify completion equipment, material and services required for each well. Prepare long term replacement material requirement for well completion / wellhead including, downhole equipment based on
Well Integrity investigation plans; provide onsite completion engineering technical expertise and supervision during Well Integrity Investigations.
Principal Accountabilities:
-Assist Well Integrity Engineering Division in the preparation and reviewing of the well completion equipment prior to release of well integrity procedures.
-Review the well data for potential problems such as free pipe and lost circulation, and include all equipment required during Well Integrity testing in the program.
-Identify and arrange for required completion services such as, making up of specific type of completion designs, ensuring Well Integrity Testing contractors are up-to-date on the completion operations, and when required, supervise well integrity testing operation if required.
-Track the Well Integrity operations and recommend revision changes in the program to the Operations Team, as necessary.
-Contribute in preparation of final well investigation report after completion of individual Well Integrity tests. Assure the jobs are completed in accordance with stringent safety guidelines, regulations and QP’s Well Integrity management system.
-Provide Well Integrity office technical help for completion equipment, installation of x-mass tree, finishing specific completion, and well control situations.
-Highlights problem areas and interacts with Assistant Manager (Engineering) and Senior Petroleum Engineers, in coming up with solutions for problems, and prevention of re-occurrence.
-Participate in preparation of annual well completion equipment technical inspection / evaluation, and assists in preparing the sequence and plans for optimum well integrity testing schedule.
-Prepare new contracts for contractor’s services ensuring that each contract meets with WI operations requirements and QP specifications.
-Participate in completion presentation whenever is required in-house or abroad.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
-Minimum BS Petroleum Engineering or equivalent with minimum 10 years work experience as a Completion Engineer in Oil and Gas upstream industry with demonstrated and proven Completion Engineering expertise including workover and well integrity studies.
-Proven experience of recommending remedial work solutions for all types of wells.
-Experience with planning well integrity investigations procedures.
-Must have experience of current computer software for well completions designs (PROSPER)
-Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, less experienced staff, field staff and management.
-Hands on experience of well integrity management software (WIMS).
-Must have strong teamwork skills, and it would be an advantage to have experience working in a multicultural environment.
-Must have experience and willingness to mentor less experienced engineers.
-Desirable to have experience working in mature production fields where retrieving and integrating well data from files and variable sources is challenging.
-Skilled in the evaluation and analysis of technical information and assessing risk. The role will require preparation of technical reports and presenting recommendations at all levels within the organization.
-Highly skilled with thorough understandings of well construction and completion design and demonstrable experience in maintenance / integrity philosophies and practices.
-Expertise in well completion design and design review including well completion equipment and accessories and well head components.
