MAIN JOB & DUTIES
-Review and development process of the current Environmental and Social Management Plans in consultation with the stakeholders as per the related law and Standards. It includes identification of the risk, risk assessment, making mitigation plan and evaluation for residual impact.
-Participate in social screening activities as well as review of Grievance Redress mechanism
-Undertake an environmental and social risk categorization
-Closely follow up the integration of safeguard assessment information and completion of safeguards self-screening Checklist during the project/program development process and report monthly/quarterly for safeguards compliance
-Closely provide assistance and deliver capacity building training to the field teams to close knowledge/skill gaps and minimize the likelihood of risks to happen during construction
-Ensure that appropriate environmental and social mitigation measures are proposed in the Management Plans as per Environment and Social Impact Assessment.
-Undertake monitoring to ensure that proposed mitigation measures are implemented according to an agreed upon environmental and social mitigation implementation plan
-Closely follow up the integration of safeguard assessment information and completion of safeguards self-screening Checklist during the project/program development process
-Lead on developing and delivering a series of spot checks to ensure safeguards policies are properly implemented at grassroots level in line with the guideline
-Prepare report (weekly, monthly, quarterly, field monitoring) on the safeguard risks with appropriate actions to be taken for all sub projects and ensure that timely actions are taken
-Closely provide assistance and deliver capacity building training to the sectors to close knowledge/skill gaps and minimize the likelihood of risks to happen to projects.
-Prepare audit from the Employer, Owner's Engineer, Lender's Technical Advisor and Lenders/External auditor
-Prepare TOR for E&S Subcontract
-Review and revise or make the document for Licenses and permits of Solomon Islands.
-Meeting with the stakeholders and handling Lenders in conference call
-Handle additional assignments as directed by the Project Manager
COORDINATION WITH OTHER TEAM
-Closely provide assistance and deliver capacity building training to the

QUALIFICATION
-Bachelor degree in Environmental Sciences or Environmental Economics or Natural Resource Management or relevant field with additional 2 years’ relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the Master’s degree.
-A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Hydropower Project with Dam / Public works projects / Infrastructure / and / or development projects and/or emergency assistance and/or social development is required.
-Experience in one (1) or more ADB or WB EPC project.
-E&S Manager, Skills in Project Management is required.
-Fluency in written and oral English is essential.
