Primary purpose of the job
Responsible for the safe lifting and rigging of equipment and material. Supervision of the Rigging Team, assurance that the selection of lifting gear required for a particular lifting is correct. Develop lifting plans and assures that execution follows the approved plan.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Prepare lifting plans for critical, non-standard and standard lifts per RG procedure.
-Operates within established Process Policies and Procedures.
Education & Experience:
-High National Degree or Diploma
-Physically fit with regard to eyesight, hearing, reflexes and ability to handle Lifting Gear and Equipment.
-A minimum of 10 years Rigging Experience in Oil and Gas Industry in which at least 05 years supervisory experience.
-He shall have an adequate training and experience and be competent to act as an appointed person or focal point nominated by management to be in overall control of the lifting operations.
-He shall be capable of reading, speaking, writing and understanding the English language.
-He shall be able to prepare a Lifting plan for various lifting operations (Critical, non-standard and standard) according to this procedure’s requirements.
-He shall have strong administrative and supervisory skills to schedule, monitor and control the Lifting equipment personnel and lifting operations.
-He shall have a valid Company approved TPA Training Certificate as a Rigger (03 days Training for fresher’s and 02 days Training for Refreshers) with valid Qatari Driving License Type IV.
Knowledgeable and experienced in:
-Identifying lifting gear required for a particular lifting.
-Determining any defective lifting gear by inspection before use
-Understanding mobile crane standard lifting signals
-Determining and managing lifting hazards
-Lifting studies
