EDUCATION
-Completion of Secondary (12 years) education followed by two years formal training in Electrical high voltage, medium voltage, low voltage switchgear, control protection relays or similar to ordinary national diploma level. Short courses in safety and hazardous area.
SKILLS
Familiar with safety standards and regulations.
EXPERIENCE
-Minimum 8 to 10 years mechanical crafts and maintenance experience in Oil /Gas/ Petrochemical industry.
-Knowledge of Stationery & rotary equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Primary Purpose of the Job
-Directs and carries out skillful and complex mechanical maintenance works of equipments & process plant machineries of the assigned areas ie-Gas distribution stations (GDS)
-As per the SAP schedule, carries out preventive, corrective, break down & inspection related maintenance jobs on Gas distribution stations, Pipe lines, crude and condensate storage facilities, crude & condensate loading terminal, fiscal metering systems / Prover loops, main oil/condensate export pumps, diesel engines, compressors, utility pumps, finfans, heat exchangers/coolers, water storage tanks, marine loading arms, various valves, Fire water& foam systems, multi product berthing and transport yard mechanical equipments.
-Includes regular monitoring, disassembly, repair and reassembly of equipment, as well as implementation of modifications.
-Guides sub-ordinate technicians in routine works. Assists mechanical engineer in the maintenance of all related files / records.
Principal Accountabilities
-Directs and Semi-supervises the activities of assigned maintenance personnel.
-Carries out mechanical maintenance in the assigned areas like GDS/Pipelines or tank farm, terminal, multi product berth & NGCF facilities in Mesaieed Area and ensures that maintenance work is executed in accordance with QP’s standard codes of practices.
-Supervises the work and progress of subordinate technicians as necessary to ensure that priorities are attended to and urgent work and projects are completed.
Carries out predictive maintenance checks and tests on equipments such as Main
Oil/condensate export pumps, compressors, diesel engines, and loading arms at multi product berth/jetty.
-This includes monitoring temperatures, pressures, and checks of oil level and other related general running conditions. Reports to Engineer where readings are outside limits.
-Carries out visual checks of pump mechanical seals for leaks.
-Also carries out the maintenance of all GDS rotating equipment such as Diesel Engines, Air compressors, pump and static equipment such as Vessels, pig receivers / launchers, Line valves, relief valves and pipelines. etc.
-Carries out routine preventative maintenance of machinery and static equipment according to SAP schedules, check lists/SAP task lists and specific equipment requirements.
-This includes changing oil, cleaning strainers, replacing filters, greasing and general overhaul of equipment. Repairs and/or replaces defective parts, reassembles overhauled equipment and carries out necessary tests and performance monitoring upon start-up in coordination in with operations & other maintenance disciplines. Ensures that technical records of all related electrical equipments /plant including maintenance and breakdown records are maintained. Co-ordinates with the Electrical Engineer on the updating of “As-built” drawings regarding technical data and modifications of electrical equipments /plant and control systems.
-Carries out a wide range of corrective maintenance and repairs as a result of condition monitoring checks or failures of equipment or based on observations during preventive checks of equipment. This includes the dismantling of various static and rotating equipment, the preliminary analysis of the failure, repairs, reassembly & commissioning and test run of equipment in coordination with operations & other maintenance disciplines.
-Liaises with relevant personnel in the Operations and Safety Department to obtain permits to work and advises Mechanical Engineer of the Planned duration of such work.
-Undertakes maintenance works according to the Section’s planned SAP work schedules.
-Liaises with other Sections regarding the availability of mobile equipments and labor.
-Carries out other similar or related duties, such as compiling time sheets, store stock requisitions, checks SAP for daily corrective/PM jobs, initiates SAP notifications/ sub orders plan daily jobs, and as required, based on instructions & guidance from supervisor prepares material issue vouchers, SAP reservations, SPF etc & the same will be reviewed /approved by supervisor.
-Prepares technical report sheets such as test sheets, field check reports, daily work reports, emergency call out reports & incident reports.
-Completed PM job records with SAP task lists, SAP daily reports/work sheets, are forwarded to the engineer for review & necessary approval.
-Receives incoming Work orders for repairs, installation or modification work on equipments or process plant systems via SAP system, determines priorities in consultation with the engineer and if necessary the originator, establishes time, and estimates requirements for spare parts.
-Maintains technical records of all works in formatted files, maintenance/spare part manuals, maintenance drawings and documentation. Marks the relevant drawing or the documentation specifying the latest field modifications performed and forwards to the engineer for implementation.
