Job Purpose:
IMG Worlds of Adventure are looking for a dynamic and focused Show Technician to join our pre-opening team, to provide support to the Assistant Entertainment Manager to ensure a comprehensive service is delivered to the business and key deliverables are achieved.
Main responsibilities:
-The role of the Entertainment Technician is to take care of all the audio, visual and lighting equipment, SFX, scenic elements and any other technical components of the entertainment attractions of IMG Worlds of Adventure.
-Responsible for all electrical, video and sound systems, physical and special visual effects of all the entertainment attractions.
-Work closely with the artistic staff to make sure the technical and artistic elements works as intended with high quality standards.
-Responsible for building, maintaining, moving and storing sets.
-During the run of the attractions ensure that all the show technical elements are coordinated and working, whilst assuring the safety and integrity of the performers.
Description/ Key Result Areas:
Operational efficiency:
-Perform theatrical service, technical duties and responsibilities at a general level of proficiency with an understanding and demonstration of basic technical skills.
-Perform storage prep, stagehand, scene shifts and other behind the scene duties for entertainment shows and/or events.
-Perform daily operational duties to assist the department to include covering scheduled or open positions, communicating show changes, schedule changes and other details and sharing information with co-workers and management.
-Assist with the install, show operation and strike for all entertainment department shows and events.
-Troubleshoot and perform maintenance and make minor repairs on scenic elements, sound, lighting systems, lighting fixtures or other technical components as required.
-Provide technical support and service for all departmental needs and perform other functions as directed by management based on the changing needs of the Theme Park.
-Assist to assemble lighting, sound, visual and SFX equipment.
-Supervision, installation and control of all the SFX consumables.
-Maintenance of the lighting, sound, visual and SFX equipment when needed.
-Ensure all light, visual, sound and SFX sources are functioning properly.
-Gain through training a full understanding and operation of the supplier equipment.
-Attend regular training sessions both internally and externally as directed.
-Read, interpret and gain an understanding of the supplier technical manuals.
-Take instructions and cues from the stage coordinator during stage shows.
-Operate both manual and computer-controlled lighting, AV and SFX systems.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications:
High school
Knowledge:
-Basic knowledge of a lighting and sound console
-Working knowledge of lighting, sound, electronics and video systems
-Wiring AV and SFX racks
-Basic knowledge about electricity, lighting fixtures, speaker’s projectors and SFX
Basic knowledge of one or more of the following areas:
-Theatrical rigging
-Theatrical Audio Systems
-Special Effects
-Video projection
-Theatrical scenery / draping / set decorating / prop construction
Experience:
A minimum of 1 year general experience in a theatrical or show environment as a technician
