JOB PURPOSE
The role holder is responsible for minimizing leaks in Kahramaa’s water networks by perfoming activities including carrying out leak detection tests and studies, identifying and analyzing leaks, implementing planned leak detection work programs, following up with relevant departments on reported leaks, reviewing existing network models and attending emergencies/ escalations related to water network leaks, in order to improve overall Kahramaa’s water distribution network.

Core Responsibilities:
-Supervises the development and implementation of various tests aimed at identifying and analysing the leaks in Kahramaa’s water networks
-Ensures effective follow-up is done with all relevant departments, on all leaks which have been reported on a daily basis
-Reviews existing network model and provides technical expertise in developing solutions aimed at improving the overall water distribution network, in order to have efficient leak control measures
-Participates in supervising all initiatives aimed at detection of leaks in Kahramaa’s water networks by ensuring effective tests and studies are carried out for leak detection, suspected leaks are located and all planned leak detection work programs are implemented.
-Understands suspected leak locations and raises change requests to the Water Transmission and Distribution Department to rectify the leaks
-Coordinates with other departments, in matters related to shifting of supply from one area to another, and attends all complaints regarding pipe breaks / emergency repairs / network leaks
-Develops and implements various tests aimed at identifying and analysing the leaks in Kahramaa’s water networks

-Coordinates with Water Planning Department, in order to collect data required for updating the water networks model
-Participates in preparation of tenders related to Water Field Services Department and analyses reports pertaining to the network master plan, in order to assist in proposing strategies aimed at enhancing the performance of distribution system and minimising water network leaks
-Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
-Carries out and ensures the compliance of all activities within the Water Field Services Department are in-line with Kahramaa health and safety regulations
People Management responsibilities:
-Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team
-Develops talent within the team by providing guidance and support to achieve the targets
-Ensures objective periodic administration of the performance appraisal process, complemented by ongoing coaching and training
-Follows HR policies and procedures for all people management aspects
-Contributes to the development of Qatarization trainee programs and support the implementation of the same
Educational and Technical Qualifications/ Certifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical/ Civil/ Electrical/ Chemical Engineering
Years and Nature of Experience:
More than 10 years of relevant experience in a similar industry of which minimum 5 years of supervisory experience preferably in the areas of consumer services, and building or road opening or land study permits
