Primary Purpose of the Job 
To participate in the implementation of industrial hygiene program for Dukhan and assist the Industrial Hygienist on all matters relating to industrial hygiene. 
To carry out industrial hygiene programs and activities to recognize, eliminate, evaluate and control occupational health hazards/ environmental factors or stresses arising in or from the workplace or facility that may cause sickness, impaired health or well-being, or significant discomfort and inefficiency.

Principal Accountabilities 
-Assist the Industrial Hygienist to enforce and monitor implementation of industrial hygiene policies, rules, standards, procedures, industrial codes and guidelines.
-Under the direction of the Industrial Hygienist, conduct surveys on health hazard exposures, inspect/measure and evaluate occupational environment conditions, work operations, production methods, isolation techniques, engineering controls, administrative controls and personal protective equipment program in the workplace, assess the degree of risks to health arising from many different factors, which may affect employee health, comfort or efficiency.
-Coordinate administration of various industrial hygiene programs, database entry of exposure monitoring records, and maintain survey instruments. 
-Collect, process and analyse monitoring samples in an approved internal or external laboratory. 
-If an internal laboratory is available, perform laboratory tasks such as keeping consumable supplies in stock, tracking of records and maintaining of chemical hood and biosafety cabinet and instruments. 
-Assist the Industrial Hygienist to conduct incident investigations and analysis and participate in facility inspections, safety meetings, safety audits and various cross-functional projects I activities as and when required. 
-Participate and deliver training and orientation of operational personnel in occupational health related topics. Provide ongoing information and advice in conjunction with the Industrial Hygienist in response to occupational health related enquiries from concerned parties. 
-Maintain the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) information system for all hazardous materials introduced to work areas. 
-Performs related duties as needed or assigned. 

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience 
-Diploma in Environmental, Occupational Health, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related field. with formal training in Occupational Health I Industrial Hygiene I Food Hygiene 
-At least 8 years of experience conducting industrial hygiene jobs preferably in oil & gas or petrochemical industry 
-Knowledge of chemistry/biochemistry and chemical reactions. 
-Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions related to using chemicals and to performing tests on potential hazardous substances. 
-Ability to understand chemicals Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs). 
-Knowledge of laboratory equipment and instruments, and of their safe and effective use. 
-Ability to write routine reports and use basic software such as MS Word, Excel, and Access. 
-Ability to communicate well orally and in writing. 
-Ability to perform field inspections/samplings. 
-Ability to work effectively with others and to be flexible in work assignments. 
-Good inter-personal skills. 
-Good data interpretation and compilation skills. 

Experience 
Minimum 8 years of related experience of which 3-4 years are in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
