OPERATIONS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
-Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering with further Operational/Technical Training or equivalent in the same field. Good command of English Written and spoken. Familiar with safety standards and regulations.
-Minimum 7 years experience in the maintenance of PCV's & control instrumentation, in the petrochemical industry with knowledge of workshop machinery and equipment and design codes.
Primary Purpose of the Job
-To lead a team of subordinate technicians to carry out activities in all aspects of instrumentation engineering work, trouble shooting, maintenance work, shutdowns, overhauls and breakdown repairs of field instrumentation & fire and gas systems related to the Mesaieed Operations area of responsibilities, such as NGCF,NGL laboratory, fire station, weather monitoring system, canteen, clinic, material stores, transport facilities, central workshop, water irrigation pumping stations and all office buildings. To get involved in major overhaul and repair of all types of control valves and on!off valves received from the different plants & facilities under Mesaieed Operations including NGL common facilities during equipment! plant shutdowns and emergency work.
-Coordinates men and resources to meet the objectives set for the workshop in a cost effective manner. Maintains quality control standards to ensure work is carried out satisfactorily. Progresses work in hand to meet established deadlines.
Principal Accountabilities
-To lead a team of subordinate instrument technicians to carry out all the assigned Instrumentation activities of the NGL Common facilities and the workshop. Implements QP's policy on training and development with particular reference to Qatari Development.
-In charge of all routine & non routine maintenance work in the NGL common facilities areas existing inside NGL fences such as safety & fire station, laboratory, material stores, clinic, canteen, central workshop, transport yard and others.
-To assist the Instrument Maintenance Engineer in preparation for the shutdown & major overhaul! repair of PCV's received from the different NGL plants and facilities under Mesaieed Operations. Coordinates for specialist assistance and material requirement during shutdowns and major overhauls. Assist the Engineer to prepare and complete all associated paper work.
-Accountable for the repairs and overhauls of all types of control valves (pressure, flow, level & ESDV etc ... ) received from the different NGL plants and facilities under Mesaieed Operations.
-Repairs and refurbishes control and instrumentation equipment available in NGL complex common facilities against received defect reports and work orders.
-Reviews requirements for the Instrumentation section and reports it to the Sr. Maintenance Engineer to raise purchase requisitions in terms of tools, spare parts and other materials and initiates action to ensure resources are available to meet schedule requirements.
-To assist his Engineer to co-ordinate contractors works within the scope of workshop activity.
-And to lead the subordinates and resources in a cost effective manner to meet the scheduled routine / Non routine maintenance and overhaul requirements.
-Provides his Engineer the daily, monthly, annual reports and other reports which are frequently required. Completes equipment history reports in SAP Acts as a leave relief to his subordinates. Performs duties as per standby duty roster.
-Ensures all personnel and work are complying with OP safety regulations. Empowered to stop any operation not following laid down safety procedure.
-Review stock levels and consumption pattern and reports to his Engineer to revise the levels accordingly. To assist the Engineer to standardize general stock and consumable items for maintenance and specialized requirement.
