Description:
-Supports the Senior Counsellor in the development of legal guidelines, policies and procedures for Kahramaa and supervises matters related to Kahramaa intellectual property
-Assists the Senior Counsellor in the preparation and/ or review of legal strategies, legal documents and labour matters
-Liaises with Senior Counsellor to provide inputs to senior management on legal matters, emerging trends, developments and risk factors in the external legal environment
-Aids the Senior Counsellor in analysing and evaluating the legal impact of major decisions where the applicable law, regulations or facts of the case are ambiguous
-Prepares model agreements and provides legal advice with regards to claims and interpretation of agreements
-Provides legal counselling to Kahramaa directorates/ departments/ sections on compliance-related issues and investigate potential instances of non-compliance to national legislation
-Provides advice related to the impact of national legislation on Kahramaa’s activities
-Provides support in managing the investigation of workers compensation claims against Kahramaa, including both fact finding and fraud investigations
-Provides legal opinion to other sections in the department regarding Qatari Law and the provisions of its application to concluded agreements
-Ensures the work activities performed and services provided by external legal firms are in line with established guidelines and in the best interests of Kahramaa
-Maintains legal notes and manages all cases filed against Kahramaa to ensure timely closure and settlement of those cases
-Works in cooperation with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement department on securing and maintaining the ISO 9002 certification
People Management Responsibilities:
-Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team
-Develops talent within the team by providing guidance and support to achieve the targets
-Ensures objective periodic administration of the performance appraisal process, complemented by on-going coaching and training
-Follows HR policies and procedures for all people management aspects
Contributes to the development of Qatarization trainee programs and support the implementation of the same
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Law
More than 6 years of experience in legal counselling and leadership responsibility in a large organization with 4 years of supervisory experience preferably in a large utility company
